This is what Goldman Sachs has said in BRIC report.
As per the report:
India’s productivity in industry and services is more
than four times that in agriculture, which employees
nearly 60% of the labor force.
From 2007 to 2020, India’s GDP per capital in US$
terms will quadruple. Indian will also buy about
5 times more cars and consume three times more
crude oil.
According to demographic trends more than 100m
will enter labor force by 2020.
India has 10 of the world’s 30 fastest-growing
cities and is witnessing rapid urbanization.
140m rural dwellers will move to urban areas
by 2020, while 700m will urbanize by 2050.
