As per McKindey report, Indian Middle Class will grow to 538 million by 2025. Each Indianwill be spending more than us $ 5 per day [INR 200], There is goingto be ten times increase in middle class population, and three-foldjump in household income during this period. According to this studythe aggregate consumer spending could be more than quadruple toINR. 70 trillion by 2025 from about 17 trillion in 2005.
The consumer populating in the age group of 15-64 which is expectedto rise to 950 million by 2025, the spending per consumer would riseto about INR. 74,310 a year.
In 2005, private spending of INR. 17 trillion accounted for 62% of India’sGDP, which is closer to US (70%), and Japan (56%), than to China(37%), and other emerging markets in Asia.
